Wedding Series: 5 Weeks to Go!

I am not actually sure how this happened, less than 6 weeks to go! To be honest it still doesn't feel real!

I haven't written a general update in ages, but I think that's mainly because I haven't been doing much, as usual the plan is to leave it until the last minute.  Although saying that, there hasn't been a great amount to do, and a lot of things do need us to be a bit closer to the date.

The excitement is really starting to kick in now, even writing this, I honestly cannot believe in 6 weeks I'll be a few days into married life! every time I think about it, my tummy does back flips and I get serious butterflies, I can't believe I am getting married. wow.

Anyway, here is a little post of what is still on my list of to dos and things I still need to do before my wedding.
  1. Presents - We have done bridesmaids and groomsmen presents, I am so excited about them as they are so different but I want to wrap them all nicely in some gift boxes and we still need presents for our parents and I would like to get Freddie a special something for being our page boy.  When I was a bridesmaid at the age of 4 for my auntie, I got a little elasticated mickey mouse watch, I treasured it, and still have it somewhere so I think it would be sweet to do something similar.  I also need to finish Chris's gift, I have been making something special for a while and I have a present in mind also that I know he will love.
  2. Confirmations - I need to confirm and alter a few of our bookings, mainly the flowers and the cake.  I want to make the cake bigger so it can actually be part of the evening food which was an idea given to me by our Wedding Planner which actually makes total sense and I need to check in with the florist, run through details and alter a few things as we need slightly less than I originally planned for, as our tables actually hold 12 people so I don't need as many tables as I first thought.
  3. Meetings - We will be having a meeting with our photographer at the venue to run through plan for the day and any special requests we have.  I am so excited about our photographer, his style of photography is so beautiful, so classic and totally timeless, his skill is beyond stunning and he just totally gets us and we adore him, so it will be great to see him again.  We will also have another meeting with our wedding venue just to finalise everything, and this will give us an opportunity to take our groomsmen down to show them the running of the day as they will be directing guests, introducing us etc.
  4. I need to get my ears re-pierced (long story), hair cut and coloured, and get my nail, eyebrow and eyelash appointments booked in.
  5. After a bloody disaster with my original hair and make up who turned out to be awful, I need to book someone new, I have been putting it off because it is majorly stressing me out!
  6. Isle decor - I have had an idea of how to decorate the isle that I think will be absolutely stunning, so I need to get the plans in place!
  7. bridesmaid fitting - I need to get all my girls together in their dresses one more time just to check they are all good to go and no alterations need to be made!
  8. Music - I have sent off the final list for our DJ, the first dance and requests etc but I need to finalise the music for the ceremony to give to our venue.  It is proving quite a tough choice!
  9. Buy shoes and belt for Chris and new white socks for Freddie!
  10. Confirm bookings and pay all outside vendors
  11. The table plan is done in my notepad but I need one done for the day, I can't quite decide weather to make something or  order a print?!
  12. Place cards - something I totally forgot about! I have cute little floral pegs which I think I will use to clip a small white piece of card with guests names on to their wine glasses.
  13. Decor! This is probably the biggest thing on our list now, There is lots to make, put together and paint.  Signs to print and put into frames etc.  Also need to print some photos out and that kind of thing.  I still have a few more decor bits I want to buy and I need a couple more photo frames still.
  14. Ceremony - We need to fill in our ceremony forms to send off.  We need to finish our vows, and decide on the three readings we want, and decide who we want to do them.
  15.  Wine - must confirm the wine with the venue!
  16. Table practice, our venue will be doing all the set up, but being the perfectionist I am I want to do a mock up at home so I can give them pictures! I've set up so many tables at functions through my old job and I am quite particular!
  17. Speak to man that controls weather to book in my glorious sunshine!
Wow turns out my to do list is a little longer than I thought! I'm feeling a little panicky about how it will all come together. Anyone else feel like that before their wedding?   I have so much happening in the next 5 weeks including my suprise hen do, So I just know it will go super quickly!  ahhh I am so excited!!! Keep your eyes peeled for a few more wedding posts coming over the next few weeks!

  1. Eek exciting! I remember this exact moment and feeling so unprepared haha! It's amazing how quickly you can get things done though, and you'll be fine :) xx

    1. I honestly don't know how its come around so quick, I guess probably because I am so concentrated on Fred, I bet if you don't have kids before your wedding it takes ages to come around! I need to make a timeline plan of what I need to do in the next 5 weeks and when! xx

  2. Wow this is so exciting!

We have just booked our wedding so it's two years away - I hope it comes around quickly but at the same time I don't just so I can enjoy planning everything and putting everything together!

    Have a fab day

    KT xo.

  3. Wow, it looks like the best days of your life. I am glad that you are enjoying your wedding planning process. We just tied the knot at the Seattle Wedding venues and I too handled wedding planning on my own. Truly, I had wonderful experience.

  4. So weird. I was just searching for information about this stuff and you popped up. You must be doing something right. Thanks by the way, this really answered some questions I was throwing around in the back of my mind.

Thanks for reading my latest post! I would love to hear all your comments, or you can email me at or facebook me, tweet me... whatever takes your fancy!
